Let's Talk Turkey Blog Hop -- DAY TWO & Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Gobble Wobble 12x24 Layout :)

Welcome to DAY TWO of the "Let's Talk Turkey" Blog Hop and.....  The Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge!!

I'm super pumped that you're back for DAY TWO to enjoy some more TURKEY-FIED creations by some friends and me!!  If you missed DAY ONE of the hop, be sure to CLICK HERE for maximum ideas, maximum FUN, and maximum chances to WIN!! I have some SUPER prizes for a few hoppers, so be sure to check out all of those details below!!

The HOP STARTS HERE, so you have arrived at the perfect spot in the Turkey Coop!! If you are just popping in to visit, be sure to continue through the hop when you've finished here -- we've got so much Gobble-Gobble-Goodness that you'll definitely want to check out!! :)

For my project today I have created.....
A two-page (12x24) layout for our Annual Thanksgiving Day "Gobble Wobble 5k!!  The-Boy-Child has participated in this FUN event the longest...  Then he convinced The-Girl-Child to run with him too...  And last year we all participated in the RAIN and COLD!!  This year we're hoping for a warm and sunny morning!!  It's always fun to see the costumes that some people will wear for this event (there's a prize for the best Turkey Costume!!)....
The title for the page was cut from the Robotz Cricut Cartrige (font and shadow features) at 2" from Tangerine Core-dinations paper and Grenadine Bazzille Paper.  The background paper is from the Reminisce Harvest Paper Line.  Isn't that turkey paper so much FUN???
I used the new We R Memory Keepers "Sew Ribbon" tool to punch the ribbon slots on the corner fold and for the strips behind the title...  I'm just LOVIN' this tool!!  It makes lacing ribbon or paper strips super quick and easy!! :)  Tucked in the pocket of the layout you'll see one of the "Thankful" tags that I made for each of us to jot down what we are thankful for on the morning of the run...  I stamped the "Thankful" with the Fall-O-Ween Stamp Art Set from K Andrew Designs...  Isn't that a neat way to remember what was important that morning?
My photo mats on the left 12x12 layout are adhered on only three sides so that I could place a "Thankful" journal tag behind each picture...  This was such a fun layout to create, and I'm really looking forward to adding our photos after Thursday!!  Here's hoping the rain stays away -- That'll be the FIRST thing I add to MY thankful tag!! :)
I hope you've enjoyed my layout today...  And I hope you'll continue along to the rest of the Turkey Hop!! :)  There's a whole bunch of Turkey FUN for you to see!! :)  Before I send you on your way, please remember that TODAY is the start of a BRAND NEW 2-week challenge over at Getting Cricky!!  All you need to do is create a card, layout, or project that shows us what YOU are thankful for (in case I didn't mention, I'm thankful to be able to participate in the "Gobble Wobble" with my kiddos this year!!  I'm really looking forward to it!!)...  Be sure to CLICK HERE for all the details AND to link up your "Thankful" project!! :)

I have Blog Candy for a few lucky winners this weekend!!  I will be sending ONE person who comments on all of Day One's participants a pack of paper and embellishments...  I will also send ONE person who comments on all of Day Two's participants a pack of paper and embellishments...  However, I will draw ONE WINNER for the GRAND PRIZE!!  The GRAND PRIZE WINNER will receive one of the FABULOUS new "Sew Ribbon" Tools, a paper pack, an embellishment pack, and a surprise pack of goodies (total value of this pack is approx. $50)!!  Be sure to comment on each of yesterday's AND today's posts so that you're eligible to WIN!! :)

For my project I have created.....
A fun TURKEY card perfect for the season!! :)  I borrowed the turkey stamp from a friend (and can't remember the name of the stamp company at the moment)...  I added just a touch of watercolor pencils for a tiny touch of color...
I also added some of my very-most-favorite Crickle Ribbon from 3 Girl JAM (great quality ribbon at EXCELLENT prices!!  Please check it out!!)...  I love how easy this ribbon is to work with -- Just a line of adhesive and clustering this ribbon turns out AWESOME!! :)
Some Kaiser Bling brightens of the look of the card and stands a contrast to the Tim Holtz walnut stain that I used on the edges of the torn paper and to darken the embossing on the brown background...
And there ya have it!!  I hope you've enjoyed my card today and are inspired to make one of your own AND continue along the rest of the Turkey Hop!! :)  There's a whole bunch of Turkey Talk for you to see!! :)

Of course I will have Blog Candy for a few lucky winners this weekend!!  Be sure to comment on each of today's posts AND come back tomorrow for all the FABULOUS details of what you could WIN!! :)

Thankful Hearts Blog Hop -- A Candle to Warm Your Heart.... :)

Welcome to the Thankful Hearts Blog Hop!!

We want to share "what makes our heart happy" and thankful today. It is time to reflect and remember that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated to give thanks to God for a bountiful Harvest. Our Harvest is our lives. We are expressing our Thanks from our hearts to God and the people who have come into our lives whether they be family or friends...

If you've hopped over from Susan , then you are in the PERFECT spot!!  If you've just joined me from your dashboard or are reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE and start at the beginning of the hop!!

For my project, I've altered a small candle to be given as a gift for a friend that I'm very thankful for!! :)
I used the Tim Holtz Fall embossing folder to emboss the "Thankful" on the goldenrod cardstock and then inked it with chocolate chip ink...  I distressed and inked the edges and added the tag to the top as well...
The flower was made with a stack of THREE flowers from Creative Memories...  I simply LOVE these flowers!!  The tag has a stamped sentiment from the K Andrew Designs Fall-O-Ween set...  Love that phrase!! :)
This yummy candle is sure to be enjoyed by my friend who really does far more than should be expected of her...  She's got such a great attitude about everything she's asked to do -- I think she should know how THANKFUL all of our friends are for the many things she has helped with. :)

I have a touch of Blog Candy for one lucky WINNER today -- Simply leave a comment on this post telling me what YOU are thankful for to be entered to win a 6x6 paper pack and some embellishments!! :)

Thank again for joining me today -- It means so much to me that you have stopped by!! :)  Your next HOP STOP is:  Shawnee -- so head on over there and ENJOY!! :)

Here's a list of the entire hop, in case you get lost or want to revisit someone....

For my project today, I created a FUN mini tag album which could also be used to hold autographs and memorabilia from a trip to the park!!
It starts off looking like this:
Remove the belly-band...
And open the flaps for lots of little pockets to keep lots of little tags!! :)
This mini tag album is created from 5 black A2 envelopes...  Simply adhere one envelope inside the flap of the next one to make it as long as you'd like!! :)
Isn't that so much FUN so far???
Even Mickey is popping in to say, "Why, Hello!"
My favorite part (besides Mickey) is the bow...  How fun!! :)
Oh, Boy!!  I hope you had a GRAND time today!! :)  My paper is all from Creative Memories, as are the Mickey phrase stickers and bright colorful Mickey stickers!!

I'd like to thank Shawn and Melissa for AGAIN including me in this SPECTACULAR hop!!  You are sure to enjoy LOTS of creative ladies with this crew!! :)

We have a GRAND PRIZE for this Blog Hop donated by ContainYa Crafts! You can have YOUR CHOICE of a Scrap'n Tote or a Scrap'n Easel! Each blog in this two day hop has a special letter, and when all of the letters are put together they spell out a secret phrase.

My letter is . . . . "D"

Once you have stopped at each blog in the hop and collected all of the letters, simply email the phrase they create to bloghopcontests at gmail dot com. All entries must be in by Midnight on Monday, November 21st. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, November 22nd at http://craftychicsblog.blogspot.com/

I do have a bit of Blog Candy magic for one lucky hopper today...  Simply leave me a comment answering this FUN question to be eligible to win one of my 6x6 paper packs and some fun embellishments:  "If you had to describe your favorite DISNEY memory in just ONE WORD (and it couldn't be "magical", what word would that be?"

I'm the LAST STOP in the HOP for TODAY, but be sure to march on back tomorrow for another line up of super creative FUN!! :)

Twilight Blog Hop -- Day Two!! Let's Scrapbook that Wedding!! :)

Welcome to the Twilight Blog Hop -- DAY TWO!!

We are celebrating all things Twilight and the opening of the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn part 1 in Theaters!!  This is DAY TWO of this Hop, so be sure that you didn't miss any of the Twilight related projects yesterday too!!  :)

If you've hopped along from Berenice, then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Carla's Blog (you'll want to catch up on all the EXCITEMENT before moving on!!)...

For today's project I have a 12x12 two-page (12x24) layout to show you....
I've posted this layout once before, but I'm totally in love with it and think it would be PERFECT for a Vampire Wedding...  Don't ya think??? I used only the images found on page 69 from the Storybook Cartridge to create this layout -- FUN, huh???
As you may know if you are a regular reader, I love to distress EVERYTHING with some ink and a sponge dauber!!  My "Happily Ever After" is definitely an example of that!!  :)  The red strips are also distressed...
I created these flowers by cutting lots of little ovals and then folded and inked to give them more dimension.
I used my Creative Memories Love Struck Maker (Heart Border Punch) to punch some little, little hearts which I added to the accent frames...
My background paper is from the Creative Memories Black & White Power Palette Designer Paper -- This is such a versatile pack since you can add any color and either have a striking contrast or a very subtle touch of color...  If you do not have a Creative Memories consultant and would like to order any of the CM products I've used, you can have them direct shipped by clicking and shopping HERE...

And what would a Blog Hop be without a little Blog Candy right?  The sponsor for this hop is Karber Digital Images, and they have generously offered TWO of their AWESOME Digital Images to a random commenter. To be eligible to win please comment on each blog for both days of the hop...  It would be WONDERFUL if you chose to follow everyone too!!  We'd like to say a huge thank you to Berenice Rendon and Karber Images for their generosity in sponsoring the hop...

I ALSO have a bit of Blog Candy for one lucky hopper!!  It just so happens that I hung on to a few boxes of the original Twilight SweetTarts Candy Boxes...  How about that???  Candy for my Blog Candy!!  LOL...  If you'd like the chance to win one of these novelty boxes (yes, the candy is still sealed inside), please leave me a comment answering this FUN question:  "We all know who Bella ends up with, but do you agree with her choice???"  As happy as I am with the fourth book, and as excited as I am to see the movie (with my BFF, Christi!!), if the choice were mine, it would have gone the other way  (there, no spoilers!!)...  :)

Remember, I'll be posting for a HOST of hops this weekend -- Be sure to check them all out for MAXIMUM chances to win!!  ;)  Now, it's off to the next Twilight Hop Stop...  Please enjoy what Nancy has in store for you next!! :)

Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. your ENTIRE Stamp Purchase!!  Woot-woot!!

Kristal's stamp sets are perfect for cards, layouts, and so much more...  For my project, I'm featuring the Winter Wishes Stamp Art Set...
I made this nifty little ornament/tag...  Of course, things never are what they first seem with me, are they???
I love this combination of stamps -- Frosty wishes, Snow kisses...  If I have to think about snow coming, I want to think of the snow as leaving sweet little kisses (not mountains of shoveling)...  hee hee...
When you pull the beads away from the "tag"....  It begins to open...
And as it fans out, it reveals... This amazing, adorable, pop-up, WOW that I learned from THIS VIDEO TUTORIAL (so super easy!!)...
How pretty would that be hanging on a tree or from a garland???  And what a FUN little addition to a present or gift bag!!
Not only did I use the Winter Wishes set for all of the phrases (including "for YOU"), but also for all those fun little itty-bitty snowflakes all over the paper!!  I love how CLEAR the stamped image is on these itty-bitty snowflakes -- even with the lighter stamp color, they look FANTASTIC!!  :)
And there you have it!!  Isn't that so much FUN???  I hope you'll make one (or many) too!!  For more details on the Winter Wishes Stamp Art Set or to make this set YOURS, please click on the preview:

Twilight Blog Hop -- Snacks and Beverages this way, please...

Welcome to the Twilight Blog Hop!!

We are celebrating all things Twilight and the opening of the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn part 1 in Theaters!!  This is a TWO-DAY Hop, so be sure to stop back by to check out all the Twilight related projects on both days!!  :)

If you've hopped along from Berenice, then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Carla's Blog (you'll want to catch up on all the EXCITEMENT before moving on!!)...

The-Girl-Child will be home from college later tonight (YAY!!)...  And while she hasn't finished reading all of the books yet (GASP!!), she does enjoy going to see the movies with me-n-my-BFF-Christi!!  Last year we entertained the other Twilighters in line with our exuberance and excitement over the very LARGE buckets of popcorn featuring everyone's favorite characters (Did you get one???  Did you SAVE it???  Well, I did!!)...  This year, I'm filling that popcorn bucket with a few of my favorite treats that I don't think any Vampire Wedding should be without...
I've never actually attended a Vampire Wedding, but I imagine these are the kinds of beverages and snacks they'd have on hand for the guests.......
Yup...  Bottles of Strawberry-Lime Soda disguised as a "real" vampire's favorite thirst-quencher in Type A, Type B, or Type O...  Jones Soda makes the very best Strawberry-Lime soda, so even The-Boy-Child will enjoy this tasty treat....
Of course, you can't expect those vampires to travel from afar without having some "platelets" to snack on...  These red coin jellies are also available in Type A, Type B, or Type O...  And all I have to say about these is YUM!! :)
My background paper is all Creative Memories Black & White Designer Paper accented with red cardstock.  I used this cool NEW tool called the "Sew Ribbon" from We R Memory Keepers to punch the slots for my Antique White Crinkle Ribbon from 3 Girl JAM (great quality ribbon at EXCELLENT prices!!  Please check it out!!)...

And what would a Blog Hop be without a little Blog Candy right?  The sponsor for this hop is Karber Digital Images, and they have generously offered TWO of their AWESOME Digital Images to a random commenter. Lasting Memories Layout Challenges: #64 - Hidden Journaling!! :) A blast from my Texas past...

Yee-Haw!!  As y'all are probably aware, I've been taking some time off from the bloggie-world...  I'm still in the middle of that break, but I've missed sharing some of my favorite challenges!!  Since there's still a few days left to join this week's challenge over at Lasting Memories, I was hoping I could inspire you to try some HIDDEN JOURNALING in a layout for the current challenge!!  As you know, I simply LOVE doing layouts, and Lasting Memories is ALL about layouts (and layouts only -- no cards -- woot woot!!)...

What do ya think?  Wanna create a layout this week?  C'mon!!  Let's do it!! :)  Now, this is a layout that I've shown before, but I really, really, really LOVE it and hoped I'd be sharing something you might not have seen before...

On December 29, 1845, Texas became the 28th state in the Union...  Nicknamed the "Lone Star State," the state flower is Bluebonnets, the state bird is a Mockingbird, and the state tree is Pecan...  Now, it's a bit hard for me to sit and write about the state of Texas without immediately becoming a little twang-ish...  You see, my family and friends who love me dearly would all tell you that the one of their favorite things to come out of the state of Texas is...  ME!! :)

Yeppers, faithful friends...  I'm a Texas Girl!!  Well, now doesn't that just explain a few of the Howdies, Yee-Haws, and Hey-there Pardners???  :)  If ever you get the chance to saddle up your horse and head to Texas...  Well, I just couldn't recommend anything more!! :)

I don't know about you, but when I think of Texas, I think about the Red-White-and-Blue (okay, and the Texas Longhorns...  HOOK 'EM HORNS!!)...  This 12x12 layout features some of my favorite 'retired' paper from the Creative Memories Primary 4th of July Additions Kit (I've actually been saving this paper for this layout in particular!!) and the retired Star Shape Maker Punch.  All of the Cricut cuts (the state, name, and mockingbird) are from the 50 States Cricut Cartridge (oh, how I LOVE this cartridge!!).  I also used my Creative Memories Tag Punch for the hidden journaling tags....
Two tags are hidden on the left side of the Texas state cut (the state is cut at 11.5" using the base feature and shadow feature).  I distressed the white cardstock with Stampin' Up!'s Creamy Caramel ink...  The ribbon is from my stash...
On the right side of the state, I included a hidden 4.5"x6.5" double-sided photo mat also with hidden journaling tags...  This gives me a little extra room to hide some memorabilia, event tickets, or even one of those pennies that you flatten in those souvenir machines. :)
Here you can see that the entire photo mat pulls out from under the state...  It is matted on both sides so that I can add TWO 4x6 photos (this is a great time to make a mini-collage of several photos and really jam-pack the memories into one layout)...
As I mentioned, the state bird is a mockingbird...  Not quite as regal as an eagle, but since the nation claimed that for the National bird, I suppose it's okay that it wasn't up for grabs in Texas. :)  Anyway, I think the mockingbird is a rather nifty bird...  If I had a mockingbird outside my window, I think I'd enjoy hearing it sing quite a bit!!  So this is a picture of the state bird......
And this is my mockingbird on my layout!! :)  One of the great features on the 50 States Cricut Cartridge is that it has a cut for each state bird...  I cut this one at 2.75" -- Two of the base layer (for extra thickness) in black and one in the top layer in light gray.  I then used my white Signo pen and black marker to add some details and finished it off by shading it with some black ink.
The TEXAS title (another feature on the cartridge) was cut at 2.5" in both the base layer and shadow layer.  I popped the title up with some foam tape for a little extra dimension...
And there you have it!!  That's my Texas layout featuring LOTS of hidden spots for journaling (or even EXTRA photos)!!  I hope you've enjoyed it!! :)
Ready for a little more inspiration???  Wait til you see all the fantastic layouts that my Design Team Sisters over at Lasting Memories made!!  Please be sure to click on the logo below to check out the creativity!! :)

And now it's your turn!!  Create your layout using some hidden journaling, and link it up at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges...  You have until Sunday night to link up!!  Make sure you let me know if you enter as you just never know when I'll pull out a Texas-sized RAK for one lucky entrant!! :)

Lasting Memories
I can't to see what you create!! :)

Until next time,
