Whoopsy-Daisy Make-Up Day -- Scrappin' for Kenzie's 1st Blogaversary Blog Hop -- Under the Sea!! :)

Welcome to my Whoopsy-Daisy Make-Up Day...
What's a Whoopsy-Daisy Make-Up Day" you ask??? Well..... If you're a regular visitor here at Love To Crop!, then you probably already know that I love to participate in Blog Hops... I have a bit of an addiction to them actually... Do you??? I think Blog Hops are a GREAT way to find new blogs to follow. Blog Hops inspire me to think outside the box and come up with something I think my Bloggie-Land-Friends (BLFs) might enjoy seeing... But I digress... Sort of...

Last Friday I was to participate in a Blog Hop for my BLF Michelle's Blogaversary... But due to a slip and a fall (anyone who knows me will tell ya that I'm a little unbalanced anyway!!), I was unable to finish my project in time for the hop... I didn't want to miss out on the fun, and I sure didn't want to miss out on sharing some REALLY creative talent with ya, so I decided to post today with a plea for you to hop through and see what everyone else created too... To make it EXTRA easy for you to do this, I've included DIRECT LINKS to each participants post below... You won't need to search for their blog hop post if you use the links I've included. I'd love for you to see what they've each created!! So... Without further ado... Here's my Blog Hop post for Michelle...

Welcome to the very first blogaversary for Scrappin' For Kenzie!

We're so happy you could join us!!  If you hopped along from Kimberly then you are in the right place! If you just happened to pop in today, or are reading this via email, then please start back at Michelle's blog, Scrappin' For Kenzie to make sure you see everyone's projects and don't miss any super creative ideas!

For this hop we were asked to choose one project that Michelle from Scrappin for Kenzie has made from her gallery or facebook and make our own project using hers as inspiration...

Here's a peek at my inspired project:
Does anyone know which of Michelle's projects inspired this one???  When I saw her darling "Under The Sea" box from early last year, I knew I wanted to create something with sea creatures....

I searched high and low for a square glass container I could use for this project...  I finally found one while I was out with my BFF, Christi...  It's a heavy glass "bowl" that measures about 7"x7" and 4" high...  I added a string of lights and several bags of glass gems and then set to work adding my sea creatures....
This entire collection of sea creatures (plus three more in the set) can all be found in the Ocean Set by Dustin Pike...  I printed these digi stamps no larger than 2"x3" so they would all fit in the bowl.
After coloring them with my SU! Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen, I fussy cut them all (whew! That's a lot of tedious cutting!!) so that I could add some loooooong wiggle wires to the backs.
I attached the other end of the long wiggle wire to the bottom of a glass gem...  This allows them to stand freely so that if I decide to let my sea creatures travel across my desk, I can!! :)
You may have noticed that each of my little ocean friends has a bit of shimmer and glimmer -- I added Stickles to some and used my Gelly Roll Stardust pen on others...  These aren't your ordinary sea creatures after all -- They need to SPARKLE and SHINE so that I'll SMILE every time I look at them (plus, the current challenge over at Dustin Pike's blog requires that you add some BLING, so it seemed EXTRA appropriate since I wanted to enter this project there!!)
I'm also loving how the iridescent ribbon that I added around the outside really adds some extra glitz too...  Even with the string of lights unplugged, it's sparkling like the stars on a cloudless evening. :)
I decided to add some fun phrases to my Under The Sea Night Light too...  See that intimidating-looking shark sneaking up on the fishie-fish???  He knows to "just keep swimming" now...
Mr. Crab there reminds us not to be crabby...  Be happy instead!! :)  Yeah, yeah, I know there's quite possibly someone in your life right now who might be causing you to be a bit crabby, but take Mr. Crab's advice....  And then you might find that the someone who is making you crabby....
... Thinks you're TURTLE-terrific!! :)  Side note here:  Don't you think that turtle is absolutely ADORABLE???  The-Turtle-Cat and I voted, and we think this turtle is soooooo Turtley...  Turtle, turtle, turtle!!  I like turtles...  ;)
To make the ocean "grass"...  I sponge inked some white cardstock with a medium and a light green ink (sorry, I didn't write the colors down, but both are SU!) and then cut 1/4"x5" strips...  I wrapped the strips around a skewer (a pencil, pen, or other cylindrical object would also work), and then attached two or three strips to the end of a toothpick with red tape.  Using the toothpick allowed me to place the ocean grass throughout the glass gems...
Ready to make an Under The Sea Night Light for yourself now???  Well, you're gonna need to pick yourself up a set of K Andrew Design's "Splashtastic Summer" Stamps...  You can get those HERE...  Remember, you can enter your project with a Pirate or Fishy theme in the Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge too!!
I'd also like to enter my project over at a fun new challenge blog I happened across...  Crafty Catz...  It's Challenge #121 I SPY .....SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH B...  I spy a Blowfish, some Beads (or glass gems), a Bow, some Bling, and a Bright way to light the night!! :)  See???
I hope you've enjoyed my "Make Up Day" project!!  I love to read your comments, so please take a moment to leave one...  Oh, right!!  Since it's a BLOG HOP, I have a little "Under The Sea" fun for one lucky commenter...  Be sure to leave a way for me to reach ya, in case you're my winner!! :)

You are just flat out awesome!! I would love to be in your head for just 5 minutes and take home all that I can get in that 5 minutes just to be able to come up with some of your ideas! I long ago resigned myself to the fact that I am a caregiver and just not creative and that I am to enjoy the creativity of others. You rock, kiddo!!
