Thanksgiving Blog Hop & Celebrate The Occasion Challenge #39

Welcome to the Thanksgiving Blog Hop!!

We're so happy you could join us for this super-fun hop showcasing cards, layouts and projects that feature everything to be thankful for!!  You'll find an array of ideas throughout the hop -- From decorations to gift ideas and more, we hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way!!

If you've hopped over from Sue, then you are in the right place!!  If you've just popped in to visit my blog or are reading this via email and you'd like to join our Trick-or-Treat FUN, then please CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Lynda's blog because...  It's always BEST to start at the start!! :)  This is a TWO-DAY hop, so be sure to catch both days for maximum ideas (you'll find the entire line-up below my post)!!

For the hop today, I've created .......
... a two-page layout perfect for celebrating Thanksgiving!! :)  Today is also the start of a NEW challenge over at the Celebrate The Occasion Challenge Blog...  We were challenged to create a project for Thanksgiving, and the twist is to use a PUNCH!!  Can you tell what I used the punch for???  YES -- All of the smaller circles are from a circle punch!!  Isn't that FUN???  I'll bet YOU can come up with a Thanksgiving project using a PUNCH to enter in the challenge at CTO too!!  :)
My background paper is from imaginesce (so are the "give Thanks" and tree die cuts!).  The brown cardstock is Bazille, and the teal and green cardstock is from Core'dinations...  I sanded all of the cardstock and then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz's NEW Walnut Distress Stain -- Oh boy, do I LOVE that stuff!! :)
Isn't that owl in the tree just the cutest little guy???  And doesn't he look thankful to have that tree to perch and watch the leaves gather around him???  What are YOU thankful for today?  Well, I have a little bit of Blog Candy to thank you for hopping by today...  Leave me a comment letting me know what YOU are thankful for to be entered to win a few surprise goodies from me!! :)  If you leave me your email address or a way to contact you, I'll be sure to let you know if you are the winner (otherwise, please check back next week)...

I'm the very last stop in the hop today, so if you missed any of the stops, be sure to hop on to see the rest!!  If you've finished up here, then hopefully we've shown you enough creative projects that YOU will want to create a fun Thanksgiving card, layout, or project too!!  Remember, if you use a PUNCH, you can enter your Thanksgiving project at  the Celebrate The Occasion Challenge Blog... There's even more creative inspiration from the rest of the CTO Design Team, so be sure to check it out!!  I can't wait to see what you create!! :)

Thank you again for checking out my project...  Remember to visit all the stops for more chances to WIN (simply follow the sneak peek links below)!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge -- Java Great Day!!

Happy Sunday, friends and followers!! :)  I'm so thankful that you are stopping by to visit today!!  It is once again a GORGEOUS fall day here in Western Pennsylvania!!  It sure makes me look forward to Sundays when it's so beautiful outside!!  The air is crisp, the sun is shining, and fall is in full swing!! :)

As you may know, I'm taking a small break right now from Bloggie-Land...  I have LOTS of work responsibilities at this time of year.  So...  While I miss being able to visit so many blogs and participate in challenges, it makes me appreciate that I can look forward to plenty more fun in the weeks and months ahead!!  It's so easy to get caught up in the "busy-ness" of internet life, but it's important to remember that LIFE is happening right around each one of us...  If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the online activities, I encourage you to take a break, try something new, and enjoy all the blessings and goodness that are waiting for you!!  Sometimes this is just what we need to feel refreshed and encouraged again...

It is one of my favorite challenge days again -- Simply Sunday Challenge Day over at Getting Cricky!!  This week, we were asked to create a card, layout, or project inspired by the theme, "It's Tea-Time!"  Since the weather is getting cooler, we're featuring projects with a HOT beverage -- Coffee, Tea, or Me, ahem, Hot Chocolate!!  We can't wait to see you use your CREATIVITY and show us your interpretation of the challenge!! :)

I decided to show you a project you may have seen from me before....  Some sweet little coffee favors!!
My little Keurig K-cups are the perfect favors for weekend crops, right???  Cuz at 4am, who doesn't need a cuppa joe to perk up???  :)
Super simple to make and so much fun to receive...  Simply wrap the K-cups in tulle, tie it closed with a ribbon, add your stamp and bling to pre-cut tags (I have a ton of these on hand -- cut at 1" with the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut Cartridge, but you could easily cut these with a trimmer), two little handmade stick pins, and you are ready to gift your co-workers and friends with a BOOST of energy!! :)

I used the Coffee & Tea For You & Me Set for this...  Just look at all the AWESOME mix-n-match options on this set:

Be sure to check out all the WONDERFUL Stamp Art Sets by K Andrew Designs...  Then, I hope you'll hop on over to see what all of my Design Team Sisters made for inspiration and enter YOUR project for this week's Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky...  We can't WAIT to see what you create!!

Dont' forget to stop by and see Kristal's NEWEST Stamps available HERE!!

Please continue on to the next hop stop:  Janet...

By the way, and in case you're wondering...  What I'm Thankful For most of all rarely changes -- I have two incredibly amazing kiddos that keep my world turning...  My parents are kind, loving, and generous beyond compare...  And while every day may not be good, there's something good in every day...  Thanks again for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon!!

Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS  Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. Kristal's newest stamps sets are LARGER sets -- perfect for cards, layouts, and so much more...  For more details or to make one of these sets YOURS, please click on the previews under each of my projects...  I have four projects to share with you...  If you are already a regular visitor of mine, then you may have seen at least one of these before -- These are four of my most favorite recent projects...

First, I absolutely LOVE the Winter Wishes Stamp Set...  There are so many nifty mix and match sentiments perfect for MORE than just the snowy, cold season we are about to find ourselves in!!  :)
Isn't that just SNOW much FUN???  Hee hee...  This circle card features my new favorite Darice embossing folder (for the snowman), the Cuttlebug snowflake folder, silver stickles, AC Glitter Chipboard, and my very-most-favorite Crinkle Ribbon from 3 Girl JAM (great quality ribbon at EXCELLENT prices!!  Please check it out!!)...  For more details on my card, please CLICK HERE...

Winter Wishes benefits "Adopt a Classroom"

Second, I have a fun card that I created with the Fall-O-Ween Stamp Set...  I love that this set can be used for Fall AND Halloween projects (and even some NON-Fall or -Halloween projects too!)!  I've really enjoyed creating so many pumpkin projects with this set...

This square card measures 5.5"x5.5"...  The pumpkin was created by piecing three large ovals together after crumpling them and inking them with walnut distress stain...  The faux stitching is done with a pen, and I created the twisties by wrapping the paper tightly around a pencil.  My "Happy Fall" tag is tied on with a length of raffia...  For more details on this card (and links to the fall pumpkin challenge), please CLICK HERE...

Fall-O-Ween benefits "Adopt a Classroom"

Next, I have an Ovarian Cancer Awareness card and pin...  I used the Owly Hoo Stamp Set -- This is a very versatile set with plenty of mix and match sentiments that can be used on cards with or without our favorite winged friends. :)
The rosette on this card is actually a removable pin...  I made this card for someone recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer to remind her that she is not alone and will be thought of throughout this difficult season.  For more details on this card or to read more about the signs of Ovarian Cancer, please CLICK HERE...

Owly Hoo

And finally, I have one of my favorite "transformer" explosion boxes to date!!  Check it out...  It's a TREASURE CHEST!! :)
And when you open it, it does this.....
Isn't that sentiment so much FUN???  I can see myself using the Pirate set for LOTS of NEAT projects!!  :)  For more details and pictures on my Treasure Chest Explosion Box, please CLICK HERE...

Pirate Tales & Fish Scales

Okie-dokie...  That's what I've got to share with ya tonight!! :)  I hope you've enjoyed my four projects featuring four of my favorite Stamp Sets!!

Now, before you go, I do have a bit of Blog Candy (a 6x6 paper pad and a few other goodies!!) for one lucky winner who leaves a comment on this post answering this FUN question:
"What project have YOU created in the last few weeks that you are over the moon happy about???"

Celebrate The Occasion -- Challenge #37: Fall with a Pumpkin!! :)

** I would like to apologize to anyone who was looking for this post yesterday.  I just noticed that it did NOT auto-post (blogger must have a bit of a cold, as that has been happening quite a bit lately!!) **

Happy Tuesday everyone...  and Happy Fall too!!  It's time for another challenge at Celebrate The Occasion!!!  This week we were asked to create a card, layout, or 3D project celebrating "FALL" and the TWIST is to USE A PUMPKIN!!  I just LOVE pumpkins!! :)  {speaking of PUMPKINS, there's still time to get in on my GRAND PRIZE DRAWING -- A BRAND NEW Creative Memories 'Tis The Season Cricut Cartridge (just released today!) -- For more details, please see this post HERE!!
Remember how much I've been LOVING these square cards lately???  I'm actually thinking about adding this one to a square plaque or canvas to use as a wall hanging -- I just love how it turned out!! :)
I cut three large ovals from orange cardstock, crumpled and wadded them, then inked them with walnut before layering them onto the card...  The card base is ivory cardstock distressed with evergreen...  I added some faux stitching with a burgundy fine tip pen.  I layered a strip of single-sided decorative green paper so that the green would show on both sides, twisted it around a pencil, and adhered it behind the pumpkin.  The stem is just a scrap of brown trimmed and then creased several times for dimension.  A touch of raffia adds just the right amount of shabby while the tag expresses just what I wanted to say....

I stamped the sentiment using the FUN mix-n-match sentiments from the "Fall-O-Ween" Stamp Art Set by K Andrew Designs...
I hope you've enjoyed seeing my card today!!  If you have any questions or would like to leave a comment, I love to read what you have to say....

The AWESOME CTO Design Team has even more WONDERFUL inspiration for you, so I really hope you'll pop on over and visit my creative friends at Celebrate The Occasion -- THEN link up YOUR card, layout or project celebrating FALL (be sure to use a pumpkin) for a chance to WIN this month's PRIZE!!  You have until Sunday, November 6th at 11:59pm to add your take on the Challenge!!  Hope to see you there!! :)

Until next time,

Rhonda & Amy's Birthday Party Blog Hop!! Somewhere over the Rainbow....

Welcome to the Birthday Party Blog Hop for Rhonda and Amy!!

Once upon a time (okay, once upon two times nearly a decade apart), two girls were born... These girls were both visited by their fairy godmothers and granted very special talents... One was given the talent of creating the most beautiful mini scrapbook albums while the other was given the talent of creating some really amazing explosion boxes... Each of these girls would one day begin blogging, and this is how they would meet...

Somewhere over the rainbow, you'll find the lovely Rhonda... Where scrap happens and paper flies... And somewhere near the zoo, you'll find dear Amy... Where giraffes prance and frolic to her heart's content...

One day, these two lives collided and Rhonda and Amy have become forever friends!! Lovely Rhonda had this incredible idea for a new twist on a challenge blog, so she contacted dear Amy and asked her to take care of the "technical" side... For many months, they have enjoyed CELEBRATING the get-togethers and parties that make life fun by showcasing the DECORATIONS that others share... And THAT is how the Decorate to Celebrate! challenge blog began...

Today, it's time to CELEBRATE good times and good friends with this "BIRTHDAY PARTY" Blog Hop and Birthday Project Link-Up that will last all month long!! Rhonda, who is turning the big 5-0 this year deserves a month-long celebration, don't ya think??? And Amy, who will forever stay 29 (for the 12th time) has always been a BIG believer in the "Birth-month Celebration"... Soooooo... After the hop has ended, you'll be able to create a "Birthday Party" themed project and LINK IT UP at the Decorate To Celebrate! challenge blog!! Usually, your entry needs to be a decoration or party supply, but THIS MONTH (and this month only), you can link up ANY Birthday Party project (cards, layouts, 3D Art...). We'll be giving out some Birthday Presents all month long, but you'll need to enter to WIN!! You'll find more details on the challenge blog... For now, let's get hopping!! :)

Rhonda and Amy have assembled a few of their creative friends to join them on this Birthday Party Adventure through Bloggie-Land... Along the way, you'll find some incredibly creative projects to celebrate Rhonda and Amy... If you came here from Carri, then you are in the right spot!! If you have just happened upon my blog or are reading this via email, I'd love for you to join the PARTY so CLICK HERE to start at Rhonda's Blog so you don't miss any of the FUN!!

For my project today I made something very special for Rhonda!!  :)
My dear friend Rhonda really loves the Wizard of Oz (I think as much as I do!!), so I wanted to make something FUN that was really "me" and that she would always be able to treasure...  So what better than Dorothy's HOUSE that landed on the Wicked Witch???
The stocking feet were created by rolling two lengths of white cardstock, coloring them to look like striped socks, and bending them to look like feet...  This was probably the hardest thing for me to figure out on the house...  Sigh......  :)
I punched a scalloped strip and used it as a template for the roof -- I simply sponged black ink onto the roof to give the effect of shingles...  Much quicker than adding many layers of scallops!! :)
The base of my "transformer" explosion box is a basic square box...  I decided to make the top extend all the way down so that I could include "layers" of the events in The Wizard of Oz...  First, the house has to be "picked up" by a swirling tornado!!
See the tornado layer???  :)
When the house lands on the witch, Dorothy has to "follow the yellow brick road"...  So the yellow brick road wraps around and extends beyond the regular base....  That cool die cut with all the characters was a last minute find that I treated like an extra "fold out"....
Doesn't that just make you SMILE???  :)
They must get through the Enchanted Forest...  So the next layer represents the trees, leaves, and whomping branches!!
"I'm melting!!"  (those of you who have seen the musical "Wicked" know this scene is forever changed...  At least, it's not as scary for me now as it was when I first saw it many, many, many years ago!!)...  The background is meant to represent the castle...
I'll bet you can guess that the EMERALD GREEN layer is meant to represent....  The Emerald City...  TA-DA!!  :)
And there's Rhonda, ahem, I mean, GLENDA amidst a myriad of RAINBOW colors to lead Dorothy home....
I really wanted to make Rhonda one of my "transformer" explosion boxes...  I had to think long and hard about what kind I would make -- I think it's PERFECT for Rhonda!!  Can't you just imagine Rhonda all dressed up in a pink "Glenda" gown waving her magic wand to create all those fabulous minis that she loves to make???

And now...  I have a little blog candy for you!!  I will be sending a pack of 6x6 paper and embellishments to one fabulous winner!! :)

To be eligible for my blog candy:
  • Please become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment answering this FUN question: "What theme would YOU pick for YOUR Birthday Party? (mine would be GIRAFFES!!)"!!
If you leave your email address (please leave it in SAFE scrapbookingwithamy at gmail dot com form), I will be happy to contact you if you are the winner; otherwise, you will need to check back to see if you are a winner.  No captcha here, so commenting is quick and easy!! :)

Thanks for checking out my project, your next stop will be... Decorate To Celebrate!; however, before you go, be sure to leave a comment on this post so that you'll be entered to WIN the GRAND PRIZE!!

Birthday Party Blog Hop
