Pinkalicious Birthday Blog Hop & Giveaway!! :)

Welcome to the Pinkalicious Birthday Blog Hop!!

I'm so excited to have been invited to participate in this FUN Blog Hop dedicated to CELEBRATING a very special person... Melissa from Adventures In Heels!! :)

To celebrate Melissa's birthday, I decided to make a fun and fashionable Explosion Purse!!

I started with a 12x12 piece of black textured cardstock (looks like leather!!). It is scored into 4" squares (looks like a tic-tac-toe board) and then the four corner squares are scored from the outside corner diagonally to the inside corner (see the open picture for reference). The two side center squares are scored into a "V" shape (see open picture for reference). I've been working on a photo tutorial for this purse, so I hope to have that posted in the next few weeks... The handle was created by punching down both sides of a 1.5"x7" strip of black cardstock and then adding the white and pink strip down the center for reinforcement. I love my BLING on projects like this, so there's plenty of clear gems added for extra sparkle. :)

A Velcro strip holds the purse closed until you're ready to open it!! Then...

It gradually unfolds to reveal the 'explosion' inside...

Ta-da!! Perfect for adding some fun pictures or embellishments for a Pinkalicious Birthday!! :)

I used one 12x12 sheet of decorative paper from the Creative Memories Delight Shopper Diva 12x12 Additions Kit for the inside of the purse (as well as the strip on the front of the purse). I love the distressed look of this paper... I cut the pink decorative squares at 3.75"x3.75" to fit on the 3.825"x3.825" white cardstock squares.

Of course, my favorite embellishment is the tag featuring the "Fashionable Friends" Stamp Set from K Andrew Designs... Isn't that just perfect??? :)
