Welcome to the Operation Write Home Bunny Hop!! -- "Happy Spring" Easel Card (with Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge)

Wow...  My very first Blog Hop!!  If you arrived here from Mariam at Purple Lily Studio, you are in the right spot!  If you'd like to start at the beginning, you'll want to start at  OWH Stars & Stamps!!  Let me start by sending a BIG THANK YOU to all of my followers and to YOU for coming by to visit me!!  It means so much to me to be a part of this hop -- A way to say 'Thank You' to the many men and women who serve in our nation's armed forces...

If you started at the beginning, you've hopped a long way to get here; so sit back and rest a bit...  While you are here, if you like what you see, I hope you'll become a follower (and if you do, I hope you'll CLICK HERE for my Fantastic Follower Giveaway (for a Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge!!)...
I have only recently learned about the great things they do over at Operation Write Home (OWH Mission:  "Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them")...  And it was when I saw THIS that I knew I wanted to participate in such a wonderful program...  I do hope you'll take a few moments to visit OWH and see how you might wish to participate in their program as well...  Right now, they are collecting cards for both Easter (due by March 18th) and Mother's Day (due by March 31st).  They are also in need of AnyHero cards/letters (notes of gratitude written to any hero in our nation's armed forces).  What a great way to support our troops!!
About my card...  I started with a strip of cardstock measuring 4.25" x 11" and scored my card at 5.5" and 8.25".  I cut two giraffes using the BRAND NEW Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge -- the first one measuring 5" and the second one measuring 4".  The tree can also be found on this cartridge and was cut at 5".  I love the layers on this cartridge -- They are very simple to figure out and do not require a magnifying glass and a lot of aspirin to get all the pieces together. :)  My grass is made with strips of paper cut with my decorative trimmer and my 'sky' measures 4.25"x2.75" -- The sky is also embossed with my Cuttlebug "D'Vine Swirls" folder.
Since the card base is green, I added a liner to the inside of the card -- I am sending this card to OWH, and the liner is necessary so that a pencil can be used to add a note to the inside (for more on the guidelines, please CLICK HERE)...  My 'happy Spring!' sentiment is computer printed and mounted on a fun label box that is also on the Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge!  If you would like to see more projects with this cartridge, be sure to stop by again in the next few days -- I'll be adding several other projects (including some 12x12 layouts) featuring this cartridge -- And if you'd like a chance to WIN one of these cartridges, you can get all of the details and ENTER HERE!!

Okie-dokie!!  What would a Blog Hop be without some Blog Hop Candy???
For one lucky Blog Hop participant, I have the following:  Cricut Color Ink Cartridges (set of 5), Primary Collection -- Replace your cutting blade with colorful inks to draw letters and shapes! Reinsert your cutting blade to cut the drawn images for a fun edge on your cut images!; Creative Memories Primary Paper Ribbon -- 4 rolls of double-sided paper ribbon (5 ft. per roll).  Easily attach this paper ribbon to your cards and scrapbook pages!  Use each ribbon individually, or layer it up for a unique look!; Creative Memories Primary Paper Buttons -- 64 paper buttons to embellish your cards and scrapbook pages easily and without the bulk or weight of traditional buttons!
To enter to WIN my Blog Hop Candy, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post telling me what YOU would make using these items!!  You do not have to be a follower to win, but I'd love for you to do that if you like what see here...  Be sure to leave your blog address (if you have one) so that I can come visit you too!!

The small print (literally):  All entries are due by 11:59pm EST on Saturday, March 12th.  The winner will be selected using Random.org and posted by MONDAY, March 14th.  If you leave your email address and are the winner, I will email you to let you know.  If you do not leave your email, you will have 7 days to contact me before a new winner is selected.

Thanks so much for hopping over, your next stop on the Bunny Hop is Rebecca at Buzzy Bee Designs!!

Those giraffes are so cute! Your card turned out great. My answer- make more cards of course;)
Question for you: how many cards do you usually send in to OWH at a time? I've got some ready (trying to make the March 18th deadline) & this will be my first shipment. I was feeling pretty good till I saw where a lot of people send in LOTS (like 100+)at a time-I don't have near that many.

This is just the cuttest card ever! Love your colors and great work on the easel!
All of these blog candy items are perfect for OWH cards! Instead of all of the bulk and weight of the buttons and ribbons, the fact that these items are made of paper helps prevent both problems. They are so bright and cheery, so they will definately put a smile on the sender and receiver both! Thanks for supporting OWH!
