Bug Bites -- Grillin' and Chillin' Bug Hop & Giveaway!! :)

Welcome to BugBites first ever Bug Hop!  

To celebrate the beginning of summer, Barb over at BugBites is hosting two consecutive weekends of Bug Hops...  This weekend it is all about the Chillin’!!  Kickin' back, enjoying an ice cold lemonade, taking a dip in the pool... 

So if you've come bug-hopping from Shelly at My Paper Love you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog from your dashboard or are reading this via email and would like to play along with our Grillin’ & Chillin’ Bug Hop, please click HERE to start at the beginning!! :)

Each designer along the bug trail is featuring a project based on the Grillin’ & Chillin’ theme. What’s more exciting is YOU can participate too by creating a project and linking it up over at BugBites for a chance to win a BIG PRIZE!! :)

But -- there is a twist!!  Your project must include at least one Cricut cut and at least one of the critters that have been hidden within some of the bug stop blogs. Be sure to visit all the bug stops to find all of your critter choices.

While you are looking for the critters, be sure to check out the blog candy that each designer has to offer you. You don't want to miss out on any of it!  Now on to my project...

One of the ways I really love to 'chill' in the summer time is while watching FIREWORKS!!  There is something about the way those beautiful lights burst in the sky -- lighting up the night and sending a resonating BOOM through every fiber of my body!!  We have been known to travel several hours for a good fireworks show...  We make plans to see them in our local community on the 4th of July, at the park near my parents during other weekend events, for the Pirates' Skyblast nights...  We've even planned our vacation events around seeing the fireworks show at Epcot Center or Disney World!!  When it comes right down to it...  It's probably my very favorite part of summer!! :)

And so I have created this layout to celebrate the Summer nights of fireworks while chillin' on a blanket, taking in the wonderful display...

The fireworks are cut (with shadows) at 3", 3.25", and 3.5" from the Stand and Salute Cricut Cartridge.  I welded the 'Summer nights' using my Gypsy and the Songbird Cricut Cartridge (base font plus shadow).  I think I found the feet on the Potpourri Basket Cricut Cartrdridge and the flip flops can be found on Life Is A Beach (I did play with the sizes on both of these to get the cuts just right)...
