Celebrate The Occasion Challenge #5 -- New Arrival!! Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge

It's time for another FUN challenge over at Celebrate The Occasion!! This week the theme is "New Arrival." So... create a card, layout or project for a New Baby (or New Pet!) and post by Sunday, March 20th, 11:59pm (EST) -- (you can find the Linky List to enter your project by CLICKING HERE!!).  The winner will be selected and entered into the CTO drawing for March to win the "ROCK PRINCESS" Cricut cartridge!
Girl Stork and layers cut at 5" from Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge
I was fortunate enough to get plenty of sleep this past weekend...  Though not necessarily by choice...  I was down and out with the FLU!!  We had it in waves in my family...  The-Boy-Child was home from college for Spring Break, and he got it first...  Then he passed it on to me...  And I may have been the one to pass it on to The-Grandma...  But we all came through it with a little extra rest, so who's complaining???  :)  I was, however, informed that in my sleepy-sick-stupor I kept telling everyone that I had to get started on my project for CTO...  So if anyone ever tries to tell ya that I don't eat, sleep, and dream scrapbooking...  Well, I do!!  :)  Thankfully (or maybe not, depending on which side of the 'nutty-fence' you prefer to stand on), the fever did not melt my super-power-abilities to infuse my silliness into the paragraphs before you...
Sugar & Spice Font (from Stork's Delivery) cut at 2".
So... My creation for this week is a 12x12 layout featuring the Creative Memories Stork's Delivery Cricut Cartridge (have you entered to win this cartridge in my GIVEAWAY HERE yet???)...  Since the CTO challenge was to create a New Arrival project, I thought this was the perfect time to use this cartridge for it's intended purpose (remember, I made a non-baby ZOO layout HERE and a fun giraffe easel card HERE...)!!  The Sugar & Spice Font on this cartridge is wonderful!!  I love the way the letters swoop and swirl...  I will definitely use this font plenty!!  :)  My background paper is from the CM Simply Beautiful Power Palette and the cardstock colors used are Pink Lemonade, Butter, and White.
OK -- It is at this time that I must award my Reader-Comment-Of-The-Week-Award...  I've never actually presented one of these awards before, but I think it's something I need to do on a regular basis...  You see, there comes a time in one's blogging 'career' (the few short months I've been doing this -- as opposed to the years I know others have persevered) that she suddenly discovers her stories are being read by people she may not have actually realized were tuning in...  This happened to me SEVERAL times this past week:
  1. A friend of mine actually called The-Girl-Child "the-girl-child" on facebook (instead of just using her name)...  and then proceeded to tell her that she had read about her acceptance to Manhattan College...  Ha ha...  Yes, The-Girl-Child got a kick out of that, it was funny.  :)
  2. I attended a conference on Saturday morning (before I r-e-a-l-l-y started to get sick) and didn't have any funny new stories to share because everyone had already read them all {sigh}.  Note to self: save some funny stories for the LIVE Comedy Tour audience of friends! :)
  3. One of my friends was telling me that she was laughing so hard  reading about The-Turtle-Cat helping with my Cricut Circle Challenge Box...  And I was like, 'Hey! How did she know about that???'...  But then I was reading through my comments (LOVE those comments) and realized she had left one of her cryptic messages on my blog...  What does that mean?  It means that she wrote and submitted and never re-read...  And what she wrote left me saying, 'huh???'  Luckily, I have had years of reading her cryptic messages via text, so I was finally able to translate it into what she was actually trying to say...  And then I texted her to make sure it really WAS her (and it was)...  And, as always, she is happy to provide my comic relief (since she and my other friends are the first to make fun of me for doing spell-check on my text messages before sending them -- HEY!!  I was a lit-major, whaddya want from me???)...  :)

And so...  My Reader-Comment-Of-The-Week-Award goes to RUTH, for making me laugh so hard that I, well, liked it better than Pirates of Penzance...  For her award, I will be designing and creating a complete layout just for her -- and I will even include the journaling if she wants :)  I know that she will love it because she loves everything I make (wink, wink)...  Not that she needs me to create anything for her, because she is very talented -- Just look at what she made this weekend (and texted to me with one of her cryptic messages also):
Shall We Dance?
Now, back to business...  I'd like to award another of these RCOTWA thingies in the future, so if you'd like to win, be sure to comment plenty -- If your comment is the one that is selected (sometimes by Pirates of Penzance and sometimes by Random.org), then I shall most happily design and create a layout for you as well!!  :)  By the way, if you got the Pirates of Penzance reference without clicking the link, make sure you mention that in the comments...  It's okay if you had to look to translate, but I really wanna know if you just knew...  :)

Until next time, may all of your deliveries be special and may your Penzance be Pirate-free...  :)

Amy, another fabulous LO! You are so talented! I just love to see your creations (and get some comic relief by reading your posts...hehe)! So sorry to hear you were sick but glad you are felling better now! I love that you are picking comments out! I do not get the Pirates if Penzance reference so I'm going to have to click the link (sorry...I live in a Mommy Cave and don't get out much but I'm always happy to have some good research to read) OK sorry for the novel. Fabulous work on the challenge this week!! I love it!
