Decorate To Celebrate: Challenge #8 -- Anything Goes!! GRAD PARTY!! :)

Today is the start of Challenge #8 at the Decorate To Celebrate!! Challenge Blog!!  The theme for this challenge is ANYTHING GOES!!  That means you can submit ANY decoration or party supply for ANY themed party (no cards or layouts, just decorations and supplies, please)!!  :)  The fabulous designers this week have some GREAT inspiration for you -- Kacee did a special occasion, Claire did a Charity event, Norma did a Posy Party, Brenda did a Baby Shower, Rhonda did an "Over The Hill" Birthday Party, and I...  Well, I've been on pins and needles to show you The-Girl-Child's Graduation Party!! :)

Here's the WHOLE banner....  a shot of the cupcake cake...  and the floating graduation cap curtain....

These were used as centerpieces for each table...  The grad hats were cut from the Locker Talk Cricut Cartridge at 2.5" (base layer and shadow layer).  I embossed the top layer with a Sizzix embossing folder.  The grad caps were then adhered to the front of an oval rosette and placed on skewers for easy display.

I made the floating grad cap curtain with the same grad hats cut at 3" (both layers).  After they were embossed, I also added some iridescent Stickles for some extra sparkle...

The banner was definitely a work of love...  The-Girl-Child's favorite color is...  RAINBOW...  So everything for the party was Rainbow-themed...  To create this banner, I used Creative Memories cardstock and decorative paper from the Cheerful Power Palette.  The letters were cut with the Creative Memories Traveler Cricut Cartridge using the "Road Trip" font.

The banner triangles were cut at  fit-to-page (scalloped layer first) using the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge.  I made extra large rosettes (12x12 paper cut in 4 3" strips, scored at 1/2" increments, adhered two strips end to end to end, pressed centers together to form rosette, held together with hot glue).  The 4" circles in the center of the rosettes were embossed with the same Sizzix folder as the graduation hats.  The letters were all embossed with the Cuttlebug Polka Dots 5x7 embossing folder.

While I did not make the cake myself (me? bake a cake?  I think not.), I was one of the first to ask for a rainbow themed cupcake cake in the shape of a graduation cap...  After plenty of phone calls and questions, I was sure it would be perfect -- And it WAS...  The kids LOVED the cupcakes so much, that we only had 4 left (WIN!!)....

Now for a few of the FUN times at the party....  The cornhole boards (regulation size) are always a huge hit at the Graduation Parties...  My dad actually made this set last year for The-Boy-Child's graduation party -- We LOVE them!! :)

Even The-Big-King came out for the party!!

The-Peaches-Cat was not quite sure what to make of these "floating" graduation hats...  Whose idea was this?
