Thank You To Our Teachers Blog Hop -- Day TWO -- and Giveaway!! :)

Welcome to the "Thank You To Our Teachers" Blog Hop!!

If you have arrived here from Lori then you are on the right track.  If you just stopping in from your blogger dashboard or reading this via email and want to hop along with us, be sure to CLICK HERE and start from the beginning cuz the beginning is a good place to start!! :)

This is a week long hop and we will be posting on 3 separate days.  (June 5th, 8th and 11th)  Please make sure you hop on those days (or throughout the week) to see all of the wonderful inspiration for teacher 'Thank You' gifts!! :)  Remember to keep an eye out for BLOG CANDY along the hop as many participants will offer some yummy goodness for you to WIN!! :)

As summer stretches before us, it's important to remember to thank the teachers that have worked so hard throughout the school year...  Both of my kids were blessed with some AMAZING teachers throughout the years...  I believe that one of the greatest compliments a teacher can receive is when a child who has left their classroom RUNS to greet them in public -- I am always pleased to see the great joy that a teacher can bring to a student -- You might say that a student can 'light up' when a teacher really cares about being a teacher...

And so for today's project, I've created something to say THANKS for turning on that light...

Many people have asked me what I do in my 'spare' time (ha ha -- the time that I'm not scrapbooking!)...  This is one of those things...  I grew up in my parents' family business.  Both of my parents and my siblings are very creative, artistic people.  I feel very fortunate to share in some of the family talent by creating these lighted glass blocks. :)
I hope you have enjoyed my project for today...  Please come back on Saturday for my final project for the Blog Hop...  In the meantime, don't forget about my BLOG CANDY for this hop....

I've let you down my friend. I've missed your last few posts, but I'm here to make up for it. Loved all the projects you've done (especially the peanut mug.) I don't know how you manage to get so much done! Do you really want to know my favorite teacher? I had 4, but my most favorite was Mrs. Winnie Wolfe, God rest her soul.

You are *so* talented!! Thanks for sharing your creations beyond papercrafting!

I'd love a chance to win the stamps. I want to get started stamping sentiments on my cards, but I don't own any yet.

My favorite teacher was Ms. Lyles. She taught me keyboarding and recognized my ability to not just type but to do advanced word processing. She got me involved in a business student organization that took me to national competitions and -- most importantly -- out of my shell.

This is so pretty! I have not seen these used with a light before - looks great! I do have a favorite teacher, business teacher. She taught me typing and steno. Steno is a creative shorthand (which I still remember some) and we didn't have computers in school. Wow I am making myself sound so old. I am 40 but it sounds a lot worse. haha I can't remember her name, I have to look in my yearbook. lol http://kimmarieskorner.blogspot.com
