Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge -- Face It!!

Happy Sunday to all of my FANTASTIC friends!! :)  I would like to take a moment to say 'WELCOME' to all of my new followers and 'THANK YOU' to everyone!!  It gives me such great joy to see some new 'faces' joining in with my wonderful 'regulars'...

Ahhhh, Sunday!!  Don't ya just LOVE Sundays?  One of my favorite things about Sunday is being able to share a NEW Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge with you!!  If you are not familiar with K Andrew of Getting Cricky, I invite you to hop on over to her blog to check out her posts and projects.  She is such a generous and kind-hearted friend to have...  We just finished a week-long PREVIEW of her BRAND NEW Stamp Art line (did you get to participate in the Ustream and Blog Hop? If not, be sure to click the link above and enter to WIN some of Kristal's stamps along the way)!!  All week, I've had the privilege of showing you what I've created using the "Freedom Isn't Free" stamp set...  Today, I get to show you my "Simply Sunday: Face It" project also featuring the awesome Funshine Face Parts stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps!!
This is a standard A2 card (4.25"x5.5").  The image was cut from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut Cartridge at 4" (all layers).  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the clouds (D'Vine Swirls) and grass (Striped). I used a brown pen to add the details to his uniform (the paper is actually a damask print on kraft cardstock -- I was tickled to find something so perfect in my scraps!).  My flag is hand cut -- a wavy red strip with white stripes made with my Signo pen... A thin strip of tan, a small scrap of blue, and a tiny star punch finish off the flag!  Your comments and questions are welcome and appreciated. :)

I'm just loving the Funshine Face Parts stamp set -- the best thing about this set is that it has different expressions and features (great for some animal faces too!)...  And as an added bonus, it's a PERFECT compliment to K Andrew's  "Freedom Isn't Free" Stamp Art Stamp Set!! :)
The little guy on my card reminds me of my dad -- Even though he was in the Navy and all of his pictures show him wearing crisp white uniforms, this image just makes me smile and remember how proud I am to be my daddy's little girl...  This card also makes me think of all of the dads who are serving in our nation's Armed Forces today, on Father's Day...  This truly reminds me that freedom isn't free and I really am so thankful for their dedicated service and selfless sacrifice...  This card will be added to my box of cards for Operation Write Home's Hero Mail!!  By writing a thank you note inside, I hope to encourage one of our heroes who might need a little pick-me-up while he is so far from home (Yes, I'll probably make a 'girl' version of this card too!)...  If you'd like more info on OWH (or would like to send some Hero Mail too), I invite you to visit their site HERE...

Now it's YOUR turn!!  The theme for this week's challenge is "Face It!!"  So link up your NEW project (card, layout, altered art) featuring some cute faces (stamped, hand drawn, die cut, etc.) before Saturday, June 25th at 11:59pm by clicking HERE!!

Until next time,

This card is super cute Amy! I love that uniform! I would be tickled to find that great paper in my stash too! I'm sorry I missed out on all the fun this past week, but when I get the chance I will be back to check out all the great projects you created for the launch! You are also a very knid-hearted friend and I appreciate all your support! I left a few blog awards on my blog for you! Take them all or pick the ones you would like and please don't feel obligated to go through all the requirements (they can be a lot of work...hehe)! Please know I truly appreciate all your sweet encouragment and all the hard work you put into your blog to inspire everyone!
Thanks!
