Celebrate The Occasion -- Challenge #25: Back To School!!

Woooooooo-Doggy!!  It's time for another challenge at Celebrate The Occasion!  Know what occasion we're celebrating THIS week???  Think rulers and pencils and books and the end of summer vacation...  YUP!!  You guessed it!!  We're heading Back To School in this week's Celebrate The Occasion challenge!!  So...  Come on and show us YOUR take on the challenge!!  The AWESOME Design Team has celebrated up another plethora of inspiration for ya, so grab your backpack, cross at the cross-walk, and line up single file to check out the WONDERFUL creations in store for ya over at Celebrate The Occasion!!

Here's what I made to inspire ya...
This is a Mini Album especially for keeping those special "School Memories"...  I started with two pieces of 4"x4" chipboard and covered both sides...  The back cover and back of the front cover are all covered with a 4.5" square of RED cardstock.  The front of the front cover is covered with a 4.5" square of Creative Memories Cheerful School Additions Decorative Paper.
I cut the apple image at 2.25" from plain RED cardstock using the Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons Cricut Cartridge.  I love how the images on this cartridge match the Cheerful Power Palette images perfectly!! :)  I added some faux stitching with my WHITE Signo pen before adding some scraps of APPLE GREEN, YELLOW, and ROYAL BLUE cardstock for the title bar...
After distressing the title bar a bit with some fancy crinkling of the paper (hahaha), I folded the edges, added the handwritten "school memories", and stapled the sides with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.  This is when The-Turtle-Cat stretched and yawned and informed me that this little mini wouldn't be finished until the apple looked more 'glamorous'...  Well, The-Turtle-Cat knows best so we pulled out the RED stickles and glitzed the apple up until it sparkled so much that The-Snickers-Cat woke up from the shine!!
We added about 20 4"x4" WHITE pages to the inside of our little album, punched two holes with the Crop-A-Dile Big Bite, added two binder rings, and tied plenty of ribbons to the rings to finish off the look!! :)

I hope you have enjoyed my little mini album today -- If you have a stack of those 2"x3" 'trader' photos that the kiddos always seem to have more than plenty of in the picture packs sold every year, this is the perfect little album to turn into an autograph book!!  Simply add a photo to each page and send it off with your little one to school...  Guaranteed to be something special and a GREAT way to hang on to those school memories!! :)

Now please hop on over to Celebrate The Occasion and link up YOUR project for a chance to WIN this month's PRIZE!!  You have until Sunday, August 14th at 11:59pm to add your card, layout, or project showing us your interpretation of our "Back To School" Challenge!!  Hope to see you there!! :)

Until next time,
