Welcome back to Day TWO of the Mother's Day Blog Hop!! If you've arrived from Carlene's blog, then you've reached the end of the hopping line!! If you're one of my fabulous followers hopping directly here or reading this in an email update, then you'll definitely want to CLICK HERE and start at the beginning of the hop to see all the wonderful ways some of my crafty friends are celebrating moms...
For my project today, I made another quick and easy project (only took me about 30 minutes -- I was really trying to keep it under that hour so I could enter it in the MPS NSD Challenge #5 for any 3D item - YAY! I did it!) -- It's a fun little sign that measures 3"x6" (my wonderful dad cuts these little signs, drills holes in them, and paints them for me to make signs for all seasons!!)... I cut the "MOM" using Plantin SchoolBook (base and shadow features) and punched all of the little flowers (and leaves) with two of my favorite Creative Memories punches -- the 'Friendship Maker' and the 'Meadow Maker'... The leaves are actually a heart (found on the Friendship Maker) that I hand-trimmed into the leaf shape.
I love making these little flowers because they are so versatile and really adorable!! I added a gem to the inside of each flower for a little extra bling! :)
My mom loves to garden -- She has one of the most amazing gardens I've ever seen. It is like one of the gardens featured in Better Homes & Gardens!! I love seeing all that she has done each spring and summer. Unfortunately, I did not get her green thumb (or penchant for playing in the dirt!), so I cannot boast a lovely garden of my own... The-Girl-Child and I did spend much of Mother's Day mowing and weeding and beautifying our yard though, so at least I have that!! :) So my little 'MOM' sign was inspired by my beautiful mom -- I hope it will bring her much delight every time she sees it and that it will remind her of what a wonderful mom she is...
Remember, I am offering some Blog Hop Candy for this hop, so you'll want to leave a comment on today's post telling me what your favorite flower is... You'll find the entire line up for the hop as well as all the details on how to get MULTIPLE entries into my Blog Candy drawing...
