Christmas In July Blog Hop -- Day 3... A Frenzy of Cards... and a Conspiracy.

Welcome to Day 3 of the Christmas In July Blog Hop!!

***Please note:  This post was scheduled to post yesterday morning...  Somehow, it did not.  However, because I promised a "Day 3" post, I still wanted to add it in for those who wanted to see all four days of posting...  Thanks for stopping by!!***

Lynda from Memories In Tyme has organized a wonderful hop for you this weekend -- At each stop along the way you'll get ideas for Christmas cards, layouts, gifts and more!!  With the economy as it is right now, we're all looking for ways to save money -- what better way to save money than by making wonderful things for your friends and family?  Lynda is also offering a $25 gift card to use at any store as a GRAND PRIZE (there are LOTS of stops along the way that will be offering Blog Hop Candy as well!!)...  If ya want to win, here's what you need to do:
  • Leave a comment on every blog on the hop
  • Become a follower of each blog on the hop
So let's get started!!  If you've hopped over from the super-sweet JENNIFER, then you are in the right place! If you've just popped in to visit my blog from your dashboard or are reading this via email and would like to join the FUN, please click HERE to start at the beginning...  because the beginning is always the best place to start!! :)  Remember, several stops along the way will be offering up Blog Candy goodness (in addition to Lynda's Grand Prize), so be sure to visit everyone (you'll find the full list of participants at the bottom of this post)...

***Please note: This is a FOUR-DAY hop -- You can come back EACH day for additional chances in the drawing!!  Simply leave a comment on the posts for each day for EXTRA chances to WIN!!***

For today's project, I decided to revisit some of the Christmas cards I made last year...
The ornament is attached to the card only at the top, so it swings back and forth (much like the ornaments on my tree do when The-Peaches-Cat paws at them for his own amusement)...

If a reindeer came a-caroling at my house, I'd be sure to offer him some figgy pudding...  Everything about this card makes me smile. :)
I've said it before and I'll say it again -- Glitter makes EVERYTHING better!! :)  The-Turtle-Cat agrees...  Though we are all quite happy that it is NOT snowing outside. :)
Wally-world put all of their Cricut Lite cartridges on sale...  What better time to pick up the "Meow" Cricut Lite cartridge?  This is actually supposed to be a clothesline, but this is exactly where I would find The-Snickers-Cat if we tried to hang stockings on the mantle...  :)
And finally, what better reason for the season is there???  This is probably my favorite card from last Christmas...Nothing beats the simplicity of remembering the real reason to celebrate.

I recently learned about an organization called The Advent Conspiracy...  I had heard a few people discussing this idea, and I really was intrigued...  For several years, we've tried to downsize the 'present/gift' part of Christmas and upsize the 'present/time' part of it...  If you're really looking to reduce your monetary investment in Christmas (and eliminate the credit card bills that follow), consider giving your 'presence' this Christmas -- volunteer at a soup kitchen, visit a nursing home, go Christmas caroling...  The best reward for your time is the enjoyment of spending time with others who will appreciate your presence...  And if you're wanting to do something even BIGGER...  Check out what The Advent Conspiracy has to say...

If you cannot see the video above, you can watch it by CLICKING HERE...

My favorite Christmas song is "Come on ring those bells". Learned it in Choir (blah, blah) years ago, and never stopped singing it. Just love it!

Oh my dear, these really are fantastic. I especially love the reindeer, (how can you help but smile at that one) and of course the sweet nativity.
Like you, we've been changing our usual gifting lately and started buying farm animals. Did that get your attention? We "gift" each other by actually buying farm animals thru Samaritan's Purse for needy people in other countries. Last year it was goats & chickens, not sure what it's going to be this year.

Ohhhh, these cards are sooo cute! Thanks for emailing me to let me know that you had fixed the glitch that prevented me from seeing these during the hop. I'm so glad I came back to see them. I love, love, love all of them! I love the Advent Conspiracy thing too...
