Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge: Summertime FUN!! :)

Happy Super Sunday, everyone!!  I'd like to say a quick "WELCOME" to my new followers!!  Thank you all for your time and attention (and wonderful comments on my blog)!!  I'm so incredibly blessed to have such wonderful friends like you!! :)

It's time for another Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky!!  This week, the challenge is all about Summertime Fun!!  So show us all what Summertime FUN means to YOU!! :)

I made two cards again this week...  I was having so much FUN, that I just couldn't help it!! :) 

My first card features the crab from the Smiley Cards Cricut Cartridge...  Isn't he just a fun, fun, FUN crab???  My BFF (Christi) really wanted me to use a crab to go with the FUN phrase "Don't be crabby"...  She had even picked up a bunch of super FUN googly eyes for just this occasion (aren't BFFs the BEST???)!!  Our good friend, Emilie, thought there should be a beach sign warning all crustaceans not to be crabby -- What a GREAT idea that turned out to be!! :)  I used two different shades of tan paper, tore it into strips, and distressed it with folding and ink to make the sand.  Of course, the sentiment is from the Splashtastic Summer Stamp Art set from K Andrew!!  I'm just loving how FUN this set is!!

For my second card I used another FUN penguin image from a retired SU! set (Penguin Parade is what I believe it is called)...  I colored him with SU! Watercolor pencils and added a little bit of glitter to the waves for effect.  Another sentiment from the Splashtastic Summer Stamp Art set finishes off this card too!! :)  The embossing on the background is Cuttlebug's 'Spots and Dots'.
