Christmas In July Blog Hop -- Day 4... A Candle In The Night...

Welcome to Day 4 the Christmas In July Blog Hop!!
WOW!!  It's been quite a weekend of amazing projects from all the hop participants, don't ya think?  :)  I know I got some GREAT gift and card ideas along the way...  If you have missed anything, be sure to hop on through the line-up to see everyone's projects!!

Lynda from Memories In Tyme has organized a wonderful hop for you this weekend -- At each stop along the way you'll get ideas for Christmas cards, layouts, gifts and more!!  With the economy as it is right now, we're all looking for ways to save money -- what better way to save money than by making wonderful things for your friends and family?  Lynda is also offering a $25 gift card to use at any store as a GRAND PRIZE (there are LOTS of stops along the way that will be offering Blog Hop Candy as well!!)...  If ya want to win, here's what you need to do:
  • Leave a comment on every blog on the hop
  • Become a follower of each blog on the hop
So let's get started!!  If you've hopped over from the super-sweet JENNIFER, then you are in the right place! If you've just popped in to visit my blog from your dashboard or are reading this via email and would like to join the FUN, please click HERE to start at the beginning...  because the beginning is always the best place to start!! :)  Remember, several stops along the way will be offering up Blog Candy goodness (in addition to Lynda's Grand Prize), so be sure to visit everyone (you'll find the full list of participants at the bottom of this post)...

***Please note: This is a FOUR-DAY hop -- You can visit EACH day's post for additional chances in the drawing!!  Simply leave a comment on each of the four posts for each day for EXTRA chances to WIN!!***

For my Day 4 project, I altered a candle...  It doesn't matter what kind of candle you decide to use for this (even jar candles work well), so pick your favorite -- or the recipients favorite!!  I've done this with battery-operated candles as well -- The benefit to using battery operated candles is that the decorations don't need to be removed before burning. :)
This is a quick and simple way to make a gift more personal...  These make wonderful teacher gifts, and they are great to have on hand for those 'surprise' visitors that always seem to show up during the holidays...
The tags and strip around the candle were embossed with the Sizzix Christmas embossing folder set.  The flower was made by layering 3 five-petal flowers in red and 1 five-petal flower in green (offset to look like leaves).  A large gem was adhered to the flower center.  A green satin ribbon and two handmade stick pins finish off this fun tag. :)
I'd like to thank those of you who have visited during each day of this hop...  I hope you've picked up some wonderful ideas along the way.  If you decide to make something inspired from this hop, I hope you'll stop back and leave a link so I can come and check it out -- It's always a great experience to see something someone has created after a hop like this one...

Before I send you off to your next stop on the hop...  What's a hop without some CANDY???  I have a collection of Christmas Card-making supplies to send out to one fabulous and festive winner!! :)

To be eligible for my blog candy:
  • Please become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment answering the question: "What is your FAVORITE Christmas memory?"!! **I should mention that reading your question responses is extremely inspiring and really makes my day!!  Thank you SO much for sharing your thoughts, ideas, and Christmas moments!! :)
For additional entries for the candy
  • You may 'like' my Facebook page (click HERE)...
  • Share a link to this post on your Facebook wall or via Twitter (give me a mention @LoveToCropAmy) or even your own blog (remember to leave a link)...
  • Subscribe via Email by entering your email in the box above (be sure to confirm your subscription).
Please leave an additional comment for each 'extra' entry you complete....  If you leave your email address (please leave it in SAFE scrapbookingwithamy at gmail dot com form), I will be happy to contact you if you are the winner; otherwise, you will need to check back after Wednesday, July 27th to see if you are a winner.  No captcha here, so commenting is quick and easy!! :)

Thank you SO MUCH for stopping in to see my project today!!  I hope you are enjoying the final day of the Christmas in July Blog Hop!!   :)  When you're finished with this hop, be sure to swing back by to participate in "Jazzy's Christmas In July" Blog Hop AND the "Operation Owl: Thank You, Kristal" Blog Hop that I'm also participating in (more PRIZES!! Woot-woot!!)...  If you missed any of the first three days of this hop, here are the links for you to 'catch-up'!! :)
And now you're off to the delightful Margie of My Sweet Tater who has a WONDERFUL project to share with you!! :)

Here's a list of the entire hop, in case you get lost along the way or want to revisit anyone :)

Love the candle idea. That is probably my all time favorite embossing folder. I saw where they've got some really cute ones coming out for this Christmas too.

One of my favorite Christmas memories is of my dog Shadow. She just loved Christmas and would guard the tree and not let the kids go near it until I was up. She was a little dachshund. She did this for 17 years. She loved her stocking. I am a follower, e-mail subscriber and facebook fan

Wow, I never thought about getting battery candles and decorating them for the holidays. You could start at Halloween, then Thanksgiving and Christmas. Never taking down the decoration, just changing the paper. Great idea! TFS

Still wanting that new office chair for Christmas at this time.
