"You Float My Boat" Wiper Card & K Andrew Designs "Splashtastic Summer" Stamp Set

I'm often on the lookout for cool card-folds that are new to me...  The other day, one of my oh-so-cute-and-bubbly Getting Cricky Design Team Sisters posted this super-neat card called a 'Wiper Card'...  I was immediately intrigued because it reminded me of a pop-up card, and I loooooove pop-up cards!!  So when Erika posted a video tutorial on how to make this style of card, I was super-duper excited!!  Not only did she make the video easy to watch, Erika made the tutorial extremely easy to follow...  And ya know what else???  If you follow her tutorial and make a wiper card, you can link it up at her blog for the chance to WIN one of K Andrew's Stamp Sets!!  WOOT-WOOT!!  So, please hop on over to Erika's blog...  Cricut Love...  and watch the tutorial so that you can link up too!!

Now here's my card...
The boat is cut at 3" from the Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge...  The background paper was created by coloring white cardstock with my blue watercolor pencil (and then using my blender pen).  I cut wavy strips with my Creative Memories Rotary Trimmer and wavy blade in bright blue and teal for the waves.  The sun is a circle punch and hand-cut strips for rays.  And then...  Well, I got a little glitter-happy!!  Cuz glitter certainly makes everything happy, right???  Plus, The-Turtle-Cat has been feeling a little left out in the crafting room lately (since I hid all the bottles of glitter from her!)...  She was happy to help with the texture on the boat and the sun (and she was even happier to leave glitterfied footprints all over the floor when she was done!!)

Where's the sentiment???  Where's the K Andrew Designs stamp???  Wait for it..............
Almost there.......
There it is!!! :)  Isn't that just the COOLEST?!?  In the words of my favorite Stamp Designer...  Eeeeeeek!!  I love it!! :)  This may be my new favorite kind of card to make!! :)
Now how about a close up of that super-perfect stamp/sentiment???
How about that stamp???  Isn't it just the cutest???  As I mentioned, this is from the "Splashtastic Summer" stamp set (clicking on the sample will take you right to Kristal's store so you can add this to your collection!!)...
Aside from the fact that this stamp set is perfect for just about every cheerful card you'd want to send, I also love this set because of the Charity that benefits from EVERY single stamp set purchased...  Kristal very generously donates $1 from the sale of each "Splashtastic Summer" stamp set to the Autism Research Institute.  Founded in 1967, the Autism Research Institute conducts and fosters scientific research designed to improve the methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing autism.  ARI also disseminates research findings to parents and others worldwide seeking help.  85% of all monies raised goes directly to the aid of helping and preventing autism.

If you would like to see all of Kristal's stamp sets and learn more about the charities she is supporting, please click on the blinkie below...

I hope you have enjoyed this fun new style of card today!!  Remember to hop on over to Erika's blog for the tutorial AND to link up your own wiper card for a chance at a set of Kristal's stamps!! :)

This is GREAT!! I love how you continued the picture! All the glitter just sparkles just like a scene from a lake or ocean, as if the sun is dancing across the water.
