Celebrate The Occasion: Breast Cancer Awareness & Link Up for Pink Party!! :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!!  It's one of my FAVORITE days -- and time for another challenge at Celebrate The Occasion!!!  This week we were asked to create a card, layout, or 3D project in support of Breast Cancer Awareness!! :)  The WONDERFUL CTO Design Team has some WONDERFUL inspiration for you, so I really hope you'll pop over and check out all the FANTASTIC ideas!!

I have several friends and family members who have battled or are battling Breast Cancer -- Because of this, awareness is something that I believe is very important...  It only takes a few moments to conduct a self exam -- YOU are the most important key to early detection...  Schedule regular mammograms, and encourage your friends and loved ones to do the same...

My card today is very, very personal...  I will be sending this to someone that was recently diagnosed.  I want her to remember that she is one of the most beautiful people in my life -- As she tackles the obstacles ahead, I will be praying for her and thinking of her and loving her...  I have already seen her incredible bravery...

This card is a "Wiper Card"...  When closed, it is a standard A2 size (5.5"x4.25").  It's called a wiper card because as you pull it open, a little something "pops up" from inside the card...  These are such fun and easy cards to make.  If you would like to learn how to make this style card, you can find the tutorial on my friend Erika's blog HERE...

My background paper is from the Creative Memories Simply Beautiful Power Palette.  I also used Pink Lemonade and Grape cardstock...

I picked up this fantastic "Breast Cancer Awareness" digi stamp from Karber Digital Images -- It's on sale right now for only $1.80!!  Since I've used a Karber Image on my card, I can enter it in their Weekly Challenge (Challenge #42 -- Anything goes using a Karber stamp!!)...

This phrase is from the Creative Memories "Think Pink" kit...  I added my Gelly Roll Stardust Glitter pen around all the edges for some extra "glam"....

The "Brave is beautiful" sentiment is from the "Positive Thoughts" Stamp Art Set by K Andrew Designs...

The Crinkle Ribbon I've used is from 3 Girl JAM and is called "Baby Girl" (I have a giveaway going on now for some of this ribbon -- If you'd like to enter, please CLICK HERE)...  And the BLING gems are from Creative Charms...
