Lasting Memories Layout Challenges: #58 -- Recipe Time with a TWIST -- Ol' Blue Eyes, Anyone??? :)

Hey, let's do our Sunday dance (sing with me to the tune of Blue's Clues Mail Song -- hee hee)...  Hey, hello, it's Sunday...  Hey, hello, it's Sunday...  Hey, hello, it's Sunday...  Time for something GRAND!!  :)  Who's gonna have THAT song stuck in their head all day now???  {ME!!}  Do ya know why I'm so excited this morning??? Because..............

It's time for a NEW CHALLENGE at Lasting Memories!! :)  As you know, I simply LOVE doing layouts, and Lasting Memories is ALL about layouts (and layouts only -- no cards -- woot woot!!)...  This week over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges, we've been challenged to use the following recipe:
  • (1) photo
  • (2) embellishments of choice
  • (3) colors of choice
AND .. we'd like to see SONG LYRICS of YOUR choice, somewhere on your layout!! Journaling, Title.. wherever!  Oh, how exciting to see what YOU will choose!!

Believe it or not, I did NOT choose the Blue's Clues song...  Uh-uh, I did not...  Let's see if you can start singing it before I share it with ya....  Here's my take on the challenge (not gonna fib to ya -- This was tough for me to keep it simple and not add soooooooo much more than just the things in that little ol' recipe):
(1) photo of my TWO favorite girls -- That'd be The-Girl-Child and her forever-friend there in the picture...  Last November when we took a trip to The Big Apple, we couldn't miss having a photo taken with the "Statue of Liberty" (who is apparently much smaller than she's depicted in the actual statue, eh?)...
(2) embellishments of choice -- Um...  That'd be the awesome star overlay across the bottom and the vellum quote just under the picture...  I wanted to add more stars, some "brads" and a bazillion other pictures, but I stayed true to the challenge!!  You can tell me that you're proud of me, if you'd like...  :)
(3) colors of choice -- What colors would go better with a picture with the Statue of Liberty than RED, WHITE, and BLUE???  :)

I created this super FUN layout using my Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus software (available HERE)...  I love my digital software for all kinds of things -- card-making, scrapbooking, projects, and so much more...  If you're looking for an easy-to-use digital scrapbooking software program, I can't recommend any other product more.  I've been so impressed with this software -- My mom created an entire book (uploaded it and ordered it too) in less than ONE weekend...  WOW...  Sometimes I'm lucky to finish one PAGE in a weekend, right???  :)
A few of my favorite features about the software: you have the ability to re-color items (like the blue background in my layout that started off PINK), format quickly (like how I made the red "cardstock" all glittery with a click, click, and done!), and add dimension to your photos and elements with the click of a button (see the shadow added to the vellum quote and the glow around the title?)...
If you're ready to try some digital software, please feel free to download the FREE trial version HERE...  And while you're waiting, be sure to check out all of the amazing content available HERE...

And my song of choice???  As the title on the layout says...  But actually, no one says (or sings) it better than Ol' Blue Eyes himself, right???  :)  Enjoy the video...
